Why we invested
S & L Upholstery was the brainchild of two experienced
upholsterers. Facing redundancy following a local factory closure,
the two decided to start-up their own company specialising in
high-quality upholstery.
Using market knowledge from a lifetime of working in the
furniture industry, the company's founders amassed orders from
national suppliers. S & L Upholstery required a quick
investment decision after it was referred to us by a bank.
The outcome
The company has fulfilled a significant number of orders from
established, national customers. It developed its
customer base and purchased equipment which will enable it to meet
greater demand.
We also encouraged S & L Upholstery's continued growth by
referring its management team to FS4B to build its business
skills.
