Why we invested
SmartKem is a growing early stage
company planning to revolutionise the electronics manufacturing
industry by developing a new laser printing electronics
process (LPE). The process will enable circuit boards
to be printed on any surface; thereby reducing
manufacturing costs.
The outcome
SmartKem will use the investment and recent relocation to
Technium OpTIC to accelerate its growth. The company plans to
develop a prototype by collaborating with other companies in the St
Asaph area. It will also exploit developments in the LPE
industry.
Potential applications range from flexible electronic paper
to thermal clothing; providing scope for future development.

director, SmartKem.

high-growth sector and we're extremely confident of the commercial
potential for the company's unique IP." John Mihell, investment
