BVCA honour for BioMonde’s management team

Wales’ portfolio company, BioMonde has won the BVCA’s 2011
Portfolio Company Awards for regional Venture Capital-Backed
Management Team of the Year. The award recognises the achievements
of the company’s management team and CEO, Gareth Kempson.
BioMonde became the first commercial spin-out from an NHS Trust
after approaching Finance Wales for investment in 2005. Finance
Wales subsequently invested a number of rounds, including its 2010
acquisition of international competitor, BioMonde.
Commenting on the award, Gareth Kempson said, “We’re delighted
by the BVCA’s recognition of BioMonde’s management team. The
BioMonde team has worked hard to make the acquisition a success.
Finance Wales’ vision and long-term investment has played a crucial
role in the company’s achievements.”
BioMonde, the trading name of Zoobiotic Limited, is a specialist
manufacturer of larval therapy products for the global wound care
market. The cost-effective treatment is sold throughout Europe.
