Finance Wales appoints panel of legal advisers
07/02/2012
Following its continued expansion, Finance Wales has appointed a
panel of legal advisers to support its growing corporate and
investment operations until January, 2015.
Six firms have been appointed to the panel as a result of a
rigorous selection process:
- DAC Beachcroft LLP
- Eversheds LLP
- Geldards LLP
- Hill Dickinson LLP
- Hugh James
- Morgan Cole LLP
Welcoming the panel’s appointment, Finance Wales’ Chief
Executive, Sian Lloyd Jones said: “The 2011 – 12 financial year has
been another busy one for Finance Wales and we’re seeing continued
strong demand for investment from Welsh SMEs. We’re confident our
new panel of advisers will be able to provide us with the
high-quality legal advice we need to run our business effectively
and provide an efficient service.”
This announcement has also been welcomed by the six panel
members:
Alan Pratt, a partner at DAC Beachcroft said: "We are delighted
to have been appointed to Finance Wales' new panel and look forward
to supporting it in its investment activities in the future.
Finance Wales sits at the interface between two key markets for DAC
Beachcroft - the UK public sector and fund and investment
management – and the firm is privileged to have been involved in
some of its most significant commercial activity over the last
three years. This latest appointment reaffirms that relationship
and is further testament to DAC Beachcroft's commitment to building
a significant commercial presence in the region."
Paul Pugh, a partner at Eversheds said: “Finance Wales has
proved to be a national asset which continues to grow and will
benefit many SMEs and the economy; it is an essential part of the
financial recovery. We are very pleased to be a part of this
journey.”
Geraint Tilsley a partner at Geldards said: “We are delighted to
have been re-appointed to the Finance Wales panel and look forward
to continuing to support Finance Wales as it enters this exciting
new period of expansion.”
Sally Wightman, a partner in the corporate team of Hill
Dickinson said: "We are delighted to be able to support Finance
Wales, an organisation which plays a vital role in the regional
economy. Our team of specialist lawyers will provide Finance Wales
with wide-ranging commercial and private equity investment
expertise, via our offices in Chester and Liverpool and we look
forward to building a close relationship with Finance Wales as we
work together on investment projects and opportunities."
Gerallt Jones, partner and Head of the Corporate and Banking
Division at Hugh James, said: “Hugh James is delighted to have been
reappointed to the Finance Wales legal panel and for the
opportunity to build on the excellent working relationship we have
developed with the team over the last four years. Finance Wales is
a key player in the Welsh economy and we relish the opportunity to
continue to support its provision of vital capital to Welsh
businesses."
Robert Cherry, corporate partner at Morgan Cole commented:
"Morgan Cole is delighted to have secured a place on Finance
Wales's legal panel. As a firm we have always regarded ourselves as
champions of Finance Wales and the vital investment and support
which it provides to the Welsh economy. As legal advisers, we look
forward to developing that support into a genuine partnership with
Finance Wales as it continues and expands that investment in the
coming years."
Finance Wales invited suitably qualified legal advisers to
tender for the provision of a range of legal services in accordance
with current public procurement regulations.
These new arrangements are now operational and replace all other
arrangements for the provision of legal services for Finance
Wales.
