Why we invested
Patagonia is a commercially-viable project starring Matthew Rhys
with a dynamic production team.
When the producers approached Finance Wales they had already
secured the majority of their funding for the film and had an
interesting soundtrack deal with Universal.
Investment outcome
The production spent at least £322,000 in Wales. For the first
time, the IP Fund has taken a stake in a film soundtrack.
Testimonials
“A producer struggles for months developing an idea and raising
the funds. Investors like the Wales Creative IP Fund make all the
difference. We cannot thank them enough for making our dream a
reality.” Rebekah Gilbertson, producer, Patagonia.
“Patagonia is unique for the IP Fund in that it is the first
production in which we have invested not only in the film itself
but in the associated soundtrack as well. We believe the soundtrack
will be outstanding and unique.” Bethan Bannister, investment
executive.
